Robin, I'd very much love to see more original creations of the same caliber, too. I'm not giving up hope yet. ;)

Elle, I completely agree with you on both counts. Angel was a true star (pun intended), and Alien is quite a disillusion.

Thanks for pointing out a nifty read. On me Angel is WMD material, but reading the article I can appreciate the work that went into it as well as the bottle from concept through manufacture. Often those sort of aspects of perfumery, the technical bits and hurdles required to create the illusion of effortlessness, are the most fascinating bits.

I agree with Elle.

Funny you should post this, Ina, because I was thinking about Angel last night.

I remember how exciting it was to sniff a fragrance that was totally original, whether or not one liked it. I would love to see another designer come out with a groundbreaking fragrance like Angel.

Hugs!

I've always admired TM for how innovative this fragrance was when it first came out. I'd love to see more designers fight that hard to defend original ideas for fragrances now. I was truly sorry to see that TM appears to have suffered from seriously shrunken cojones w/ the release of the yawn inducing Alien.
