On My Wishlist

April 4th, 2007

Today I just want to dream (and drool) about a few scents from my wishlist. Being a Guerlain maniac, I can’t help but get all atwitter about the following new releases:

Chamade pour HommeChamade Pour Homme - bergamot, black pepper, violet, hyacinth, nutmeg, precious woods, vetiver, leather. Available at the Paris boutique since February.

Le MuguetLe Muguet - originally created in 1914 and released yearly since 1998 as a one day limited edition (300 bottles only), on April 28. A luxurious lily of the valley! Ah, the bottle makes me weak in the knees.

Guerlain OudsGarden Oud Oils - yes, I kvetch about the price (200 Euro for a mere 20 ml bottle) but, truth be told, I’m dying to smell these. Garden Sensuel for Women - neroli, ylang-ylang, gardenia, peach, tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood. Oud Sensuel for Men - neroli, cardamom, geranium, iris, oud, cedarwood, tonka bean.

In my book, Guerlain can do no wrong.

What’s on your wishlist?

    Good morning, Inushka !

I join you wholeheartedly in Guerlain lust.
I recently smelled the Iris Ganache [lovely, but didn’t need it] and the women’s Oud-[very lovely !]. I couldn’t get to the men’s Chamade, but I love the classic one…

I NEED Liu and Cuir Beluga [which was to die for on my skin] !
    Oh, well.
    C’est la vie…
And JAR Shadow. And CB’s Cradle of Light.
It NEVER ends, does it ?

    Many kisses to you.

That Chamade is on my list - has elbowed its way to just about the top of the list now that I’ve read that list of notes. And, although not Guerlainesque, I *want* those ouds. I know I’m odd man out, but I’m never concerned w/ how much I get for the price since I never finish anything anyway. My concern is overall price and, considering what some ouds go for, this isn’t bad in comparison. I’m praying someone starts selling samples on ebay.

In my book, Guerlain having been doing some wrong things lately, the ouds and their price is one of those things :-) But the first two entries on your list are on my list too.

    CHAMADE POR HOMME!

AAAHHHH I want to drink it!

I tried to order Guerlain Lovely Cherry Blossom yesterday in honor of Spring and the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. and it is now exclusive ONLY to Paris–or that is what I was told.

Have a beautiful day Ina–and stay warm. Our weather is horrid!

I am a total Guerlainiac but none of their new stuff thrilled me. The Muguet is lovely but not deserving of the hefty price tag. And the Iris Ganache is a mishmash. That said, I would love a bottle of Sous Le Vent and Plus Que Jamais.

Those oudy things are definitely picking at my “must-have” zone. And that Crystal Rock thing, and My Fair lady. Just those four. :)

I have a fairly short wishlist:

    Chanel Cuir de Russie
    Le Labo Tuberose
    Costes
    Diptyque Opoponax roomspray.

That’s not too bad, is it? ;-)

Chamade pour Homme, for sure. And the Oud things (esp. the masculine). And the Rock Crystal thing. And Andy’s new one.

The Chamade Pour Homme is the only thing that was even vaguely reasonably priced that I wanted at the Guerlain store when I was in France. I kind of refused to believe it because I really don’t like Chamade Pour Femme - the hyacinth is so prominent, *shiver* - but this one is all about the “precious woods”, it’s very smooth.

Chay, this never ends, yes. You got me curious about Liu again, and after testing my sample, I need it, too! These wishlist posts only add on to our wishlists…

  • 11. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:25 am

Elle, I’m with you on ouds. I won’t purchase but, man, do I want to smell them! Hope for samples on ebay, yes.

  • 12. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:26 am

Marina, yes, the ouds can be borderline criminal but I’m willing to cut them some slack. ;)

  • 13. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:27 am

Jen, have you checked the Nordstrom’s on Michigan? I’ve seen it there. Or ebay. Yucky weather here, I agree!

  • 14. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:27 am

Sara, I’m hoping I won’t be too smitten but secretly wishing Chamade Pour Homme to rock my world.

  • 15. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:28 am

Patty, My Fair Lady? Drawing a blank here…

  • 16. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:28 am

Minsun, it’s the quality (and the price tag) that give any wishlist its true meaning. ;) Love yours!

  • 17. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:29 am

Tigs, wah!!! You just totally made me lemm this even more…

  • 18. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 10:29 am

Judith, Rock Crystal tickles my fancy, too.

  • 19. tmp00  |  April 5th, 2007 at 11:45 am

My wish list is too long….

  • 20. Ina  |  April 5th, 2007 at 12:22 pm

Tom, just give us the first 5. ;)

    Hi…

As you can read I live in Paris…and I am a Guerlain Maniac too.

I am so lucky to smell all their fragrances.

I can tell that Oud oils and Garden are incredible. They are to be intimate perfume…and their smells make you feel precious. You can mix with a fragrance.

Yestersay I went to the Guerlain spa. I could smell the “new fragrance” INSTANT MAGIC…nothing in common with the classic L INSTANT…some women can find it quite strand..a mix between almond wood, spices and white musc.
