Oscars 2007 Best Dressed and Their Fragrances

February 26th, 2007

In my world, stunning women must wear a stunning scent. Below are the most stunning women of Oscars 2007. In my (imaginary) world, I was hired as a fragrance consultant to help them find a matching scent.

Gwyneth Paltrow

My absolute favorite – Gwyneth Paltrow! Wearing Nahema by Guerlain.

Reese Witherspoon

The ever elegant Reese Witherspoon – Violette Precieuse by Caron (older version).

Hellen Mirren

Helen Mirren in a most exquisite gown – Diorissimo by Christian Dior.

Who were your favorites?

Rachel Weiss was stunning in her silver dress! Very rediant, very Aprés l’Ondée

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked amazing in her navy and black dress. Would be perfect with Caron En Avion. Drama, drama, drama

I loved all of the dresses you showed, Ina. Add to that Rachel Weisz, JLo, Cate Blanchett and Jodie Foster.

I loved Jennifer Hudson’s makeup and hair, but the dress was a major disappointment. Who would wear a mud colored dress against her beautiful brown skin????

Anyway, I wish the commentators would start asking the stars what fragrances they are wearing, don’t you? How can we get them to do that?

    Hugs!

Gorgeous choices, Ina! I also loved Naomi Watts and yes, as I discovered this morning, she is pregnant! I picture her wearing Chanels Exclusifs No. 18 with that gorgeous yellow dress. I agree with Violet, JLo and Cate Blanchett were also stunning!

Jennifer Hudson’s performance outshone her dress any day!

I love the choices! Except that I’d hate for a stunning scent like Nahema to be wasted on Gwinny. :-D

Ha, I’m with Marina in her annoyance with Gwyneth Paltrow. She bugs for some reason, though I did love her dress. I also want to add Rachel Weisz. She is always just glowing! I imagine her wearing something Caron, like French CanCan.

Great choices! I caught a few minutes of Oprah today where Helen Mirren had brought the gown to show Oprah how gorgeously it was constructed – the inner seams, etc. Quite amazing.
*Loved* Reese’s dress. Want it. I can wear it to…that’s the problem. Where? Our local Italian restaurant? There needs to be a Perfumista Charity Ball so that I can justify a dress like that.

Cate Blanchett RULED the red carpet, with Helen Mirren as a close second. Jenniifer Hudson’s stylist should be shot – I have seen her look really stunning lately, but not on this, the biggest night of the year. The capelet thingy was so unfortunate.

Also loved Kate Winslet’s seafoam Grecian gown and Mrs. Ken Watanabe’s gorgeous kimono.

NOT a fan of Gwyneth’s oddly cut gown or Nicole’s man-eating puffy bow. What were they thinking!?

Oh, and Cate’s fragrance, in my mind, would be something powerful and stunning, yet cool and elegant.

P.S. Sorry, I did not finish my post – Cate’s perfume would be vintage Femme. :-D

Perhaps Gwyneth was wearing a Tom Ford/Estee Lauder fragrance?

  • 10. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:39 pm

Julia, agree abouit Maggie. En Avion would be perfect!

  • 11. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:40 pm

Robin, agree about Jennifer Hudson. Yes, we need to know what fragrances they’re wearing! Or we’ll get creative and make them up ourselves. ;) Which is fine by me.

  • 12. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:40 pm

Tamara, agree about Naomi Watts. So excited for her! Chanel No 18 would be perfect.

  • 13. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:41 pm

Marina, you no like Gwynnie?? How come? I think she’s classy.

  • 14. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:41 pm

Minsun, I like Rachel Weisz quite a bit, too, but her dress somehow didn’t impress me enough. Hrmph.

  • 15. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:42 pm

Elle, brilliant idea! Perfumista Charity Ball! Or you can always do garden parties, you know, with all your plants and all. ;)

  • 16. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:43 pm

Flora, loved reading your impressions! :)

  • 17. Ina  |  February 26th, 2007 at 11:44 pm

Cheri, ah, that would be too obvious, no? I think she needs a Guerlain. ;) I’m biased.

Somehow couldn’t post yesterday. Like Flora, I loved Cate and Helen. The others looked great, too, but I am (for personal reasons) a bit dismayed that they are wearing stick-straight, ironed-looking hair again (not that it doesn’t look good, but. . .)

From my point of view, Penélope Cruz was the best dressed, Cate and Helen didn’t have any oportunities against her faboulus dress

We have some of the same favorites. I absolutely loved Gwyn’s dress. What I don’tdress.
