Musk and Winter
January 29th, 2007
With such a dubious subject, this post will only say two things. First, I’m back from a short trip up north to the land of deadly winter (aka Minnesota). After much family fun and feasting, I’m in need of a day off. Second, I’ve been utterly, unbelievably, thoroughly obsessed with Muscs Koublai Khan by Serge Lutens. I can’t get enough of it! For those that don’t know, it’s a deeply animalic, “stinky”, velvety musk like no other. Moreso, it gets you compliments, as paradoxical as it may seem. So, off I go to chill. Meanwhile, share if you have a scent you can’t get enough of, if you so desire.

Well, having suggested that I try MKK with AMaze (great), you have started me off on an MKK obsession as well! What a great scent! The other one I seem to be wearing a lot right now is Messe de Minuit, which I like more and more each time!. And honorable mention goes to JS Incense (although I only have a decant so I’m rationing until my bottle comes). Welcome back!

MKK is truly a gorgeous scent and, like you, I actually get a fair number of compliments on it as well. Right now, however, I’m basically mainlining Orris Noir. Just can’t get enough of it.

Oh, and L’s post rememinded me–I am mainlining Andy Tauer Orris (compliments here, too!)

I’ve been reaching for Bois de Copaiba a lot. It just seems to fit both me and whatever occasion.

For the past month or so it’s been L’Air du Desert Marocain (that Tauer man is popular - hah!); now, for some reason, it’s Trouble by Boucheron. Am also wondering about (gasps of horror) Lacoste Inspiration since, from my sample spray, it seems a comforting, vanilla-woody thing that I *think* I might really like.
Slinking away in shame…

I too have been defaulting to MKK. I find that I can get away with just a touch to my sternum at work (that way only I can smell it) and then I re-dab when I get home. So yummy, especially now that we are finally getting our cool and rainy winter weather.
