Current Lemmings

My nose seems to be playing tricks one me these days, so no review today. Instead, I want to honor my current lemmings, even in this written way, before they get the better of me. It always seems to come in stages. I can go on with no lemmings for days and feel completely satisfied with all of my perfumes. Then, a whole bunch of them hit me all at once. Resistance is futile. I figured if I write them down here, at least I’ll feel some sort of control. So, here’s my list:
- Eau Suave by Parfum d’Empire (a bottle)
- Shalimar parfum (the vintage version) by Guerlain (a bottle)
- Parure by Guerlain (to revisit)
- Isabey Gardenia (a bottle – the new one looks stunning)
- Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle (a bottle)
- Chanel No 22 eau de toilette (a bottle)
- Miss Dior by Dior (a bottle)
- Vega by Guerlain (a bottle)
- Bois Orientale by Serge Lutens (a decant)
- Thierry Mugler Le Parfum Coffret (wah!)
- Flowerbomb Extreme by Viktor & Rolf (just love that new bottle)
- Miller Harris Rose en Noir (the elusive one – a bottle for sure)
- Rose Angel by Thierry Mugler (a bottle)

Hi Ina. I hope your wobbly nose is restored to its normal sophistication and elan by now.
My lemmings are as follows:
all the Parfums d’Empire line (I’ve not sniffed one of these and so need to)
all the Hermessence line (ditto – and I can’t quite work out how and why I’ve so assiduously avoided them)
Orris (hurry up Andy! – just kidding. I can wait. *drums fingers*)
Les Nez -Let Me Play the Lion (I used up my sample in Norway last week)
of course the Le Parfum coffret (fat chance, buddyo!)
Datura Noir (a decant)
Rose de Nuit (a decant)
Rahat Loukhoum (a decant)
That’s all I think.

One of my current lemmings is on your list: SL Bois Orientale. Other ones are Guerlain Sous le Vent and FM Le Parfum de Therese.

I am waiting, patiently I might add, for my Les Nez samples to arrive.
If I ever get over to Barneys, I would like to test Fumerie Turque again and some of the FMs you mentioned last week, like MR and UFdeC.
Otherwise, I’m pretty good this week (crossing fingers).
Oh, and you definitely have to get that Shalimar parfum, Ina. It is, in a word, magnificent!

These are my favorite kinds of lists to make.
Bois des Iles parfum (.5 oz bottle)
Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur oil (and lotion too, why not?)
Bond no. 9 West Side (decant)
Yosh U4EAHH! (bottle–even though it’s a bit chilly for it now)
Stella body milk or cream (I crave more body creams in the winter…just bought another jar of POTL cream this week).

Feel better! I am a bit under the weather myself.
Mine are only vintages: Djedi, Ivoire. I also desperately want to try the new limited edition Milade (made for the Russian Millionaire fair). And I want a huge bottle of Virgin No 1 from Le Parfum coffret–7.5ml is not enough.

Ina, I hope you feel better soon! Been under the wheather here myself. Not so much lemmings, but I am really digging pure parfums again. Must be the cold weather. Wearing more parfum extraits and my vintages. Today I am wearing Bois de Illes and am loving it. I am sure once I run of my Farnesiana sample though, I will have to get some more!
