New Haarlem by Bond No 9
June 28th, 2006
Today I’m wearing New Haarlem by Bond No 9, my favorite coffee perfume. There’s a fire drill at work today, and even though I’ve been thoroughly assured it’s really not a big deal, I’m rather antsy. I mean, this is a Chicago highrise, people (plus, I’m supposed to wear a dorky hat). On top of everything, there’s a major thunderstorm approaching. So, I picked New Haarlem for today’s scent because it has everything I need at the moment – bergamot (to rejuvenate), cedarwood (to balance) , coffee (to invigorate), vanilla (to cheer up) , patchouli (to calm), and lavender (to pacify). Life is good.

Forgot that today’s the big day! And aren’t you supposed to lead them out?
Fun!! You do need New Haarlem today. Uber comfort scent.

I’m supposed to stand by the door and make sure people get out. The thing is, it’s only 2 people todal. The whole thing is ridiculous. And that hat. *sniffing wrists frantically*

(((I)))
We had a fire alarm going off for real in the building at 4am. I went to smell in the hall, smelled no smoke and said to myself and the DH: they’ll have to carry me out, I am not going down no matter what. And one hour of constant buzzing later, it all stopped. Whatever was on fire I have no idea, but it couldn’t have been big. Hrmph.
I hope the drill goes well!!

The lives of those two people depend on you. No small thing.
You need to take a picture w/ that charming hat on.

Good luck with the drill! I’m sure NH will help. I love this fragrance! And I think I love the candle even more! Completely comforting. . .

Thanks, J.! I need to smell the candle, too.

Perfect scent choice! I have a coworker who wears this so when I wrote about it I wrote her into the review: a hardbitten glamourous litigator with a penchant for cop boyfriends. heheh. I hope you have a delightful day, Ina!

OH, I love this, but I’ve been avoiding it in summer, just seems too heavy, no? But for a fire, yes, I think so!
12. Ina | June 28th, 2006 at 12:14 pm
No, not heavy at all! It was an imaginary fire, not a real one, silly.

Oh, Ina, why don’t I like any of these fragrances in this line. I sort of liked the other coffee/chocolate one, So New York, but ended up sending it to a fragrance friend. I should stop being so picky and just take the dive.
Hugs!

Robin, most of the line doesn’t work for me either. I can only wear Nuits de Noho and New Haarlem. Hugs back!
