MoslBuddJewChristHinDao by Elternhaus

June 20th, 2006

MoslBuddJewChristHinDaoAnother new Luckyscent addition – MoslBuddJewChristHinDao by Elternhaus, with notes of cassis, basilic, marioana base, mate, immortelle, labdanum, olibanum, rose, gaiac, black pepper, vetiver, sandalwood, cedar wood, patchouli, musk, and amber. Supposedly, a must try for 10 Corso Como lovers (which I am). Sounds very intriguing but what a bizarre name for a perfume! $300 for 50 ml. Ouch. Hold on to your wallets.

Oh my…I think I am going to break out in hives just by reading about this…um…thing. The name irritates me, the price irritates me and the site was the last straw. A perfume “directed against limited partisan political and religious thinking”…Ahhhh!
They are saying their perfume is cosmopolitan…isn’t that what all perfumes are? Efforlessly, without having in-your-face, cheesy names like this?

*goes away shaking her head and muttering under her breath*

I find this statement particularly dubious, “It’s directed against limited partisan political and religious thinking, which always produces violence”, with emphasis on the last part. But my main gripe – why the heck so expensive? I share your sentiments.

Obnoxious press and name not withstanding, I confess I am really loving that list of notes…but multiple and endless prayers would be needed to produce the miracle of my being able to afford it.

Irritated beyond belief. I am not sniffing this on general purpose. I never have anything against high-priced perfumes, but always roll my eyes at the pretentious ones trying to be something more than, well, a perfume.

Note to Elternhaus: economic disparity is a major producer of violence; perfumes for the people!!! Yeah, the notes sound good. . .

  • 6. Ina  |  June 21st, 2006 at 8:15 am

Elle, I’m loving the list of notes, too. In my case, though, endless prayers would be needed to convince me to shell this kind of money, even if I could afford it. ;)

Patty, I’m with you. I wouldn’t wear it on principle. I am, however, tempted to sample it.

  • 8. Ina  |  June 21st, 2006 at 8:16 am

    Judith, you crack me up!

  • 9. Marina  |  June 21st, 2006 at 8:19 am

I second Judith’s motion! Perfumes for the people! perfumes for the people!

When it comes to perfume, I’m all for communism. ;)

The name is something! You could offer it for the graduation of a divinity student:)

Absolutely, perfumes and perfumers for the people! Perfume socialism is already at a more advanced stage in France, working its way towards the bright future of perfume communism, LOL!
There are so many good quality niche perfumes that you can find in France for half the $$.

    Perfume communism! LOVE it!!! :-)

It’s the pretentiousness AND the dollars that bug me about this one. Ah, but the notes. The notes!

  • 14. steve  |  June 21st, 2006 at 1:11 pm

At least now the Bond and Amouage lines look afforadable in comparison!…but seriously…I, too, like the list of notes and have been known to pay top dollar for my fragrances…but this is absolutely and utterly ridiculous (which is a BIG understatement).

  • 15. Ina  |  June 21st, 2006 at 1:32 pm

    Steve, my sentiments exactly.

  • 16. Trina  |  June 22nd, 2006 at 6:38 pm

Those notes are calling me too, but that name just *irks* me so badly! The price is pretty sucky too, though I’m hoping one or two ebay sellers will do decants.

  • 17. Ina  |  June 22nd, 2006 at 8:05 pm

Hi, Trina! Yes, a decant seems very appealing right now. :)
