Donna Karan Labdanum and Wenge

June 20th, 2006

Donna Karan EssenceToday’s scent is Donna Karan Wenge applied over Donna Karan Labdanum lotion and a few dabs of Labdanum perfume. I adore this combo so much I wanted to make sure it lasts. As stated earlier, Labdanum is my favorite summer incense, and Wenge is now my favorite summer woods. It complements Labdanum perfectly by softening its slightly rough edges and adding woody sweetness. The overall effect is reminiscent of Donna Karan Black Cashmere minus all the heavy spices (clove, nutmeg, pimento, patchouli). It smells so good I could bathe in this stuff!

I need to try their lotions. The oils had no sillage whatsoever for me but I haven’t combined them with the spray yet and should. That,I’m hoping would make these last longer. I love all four scents but I often overlook these because of their short duration on my skin.

C., yes, the lotions have amazing staying power. I only have Labdanum, and I could easily just wear that alone.

I’m dieing to try the combo you and March discovered of layering Labdanum, Wenge and Jasmine. Wonder if that would work w/ the Jasmine lotion. Hmm. Off to check ebay.

I love these two, but I’m keeping mine in mothballs until September. I know, i’m a wimp, but I can really hate scent in the summer if it’s the least bit heavy.

Elle, I’ve been eyeing the Jasmine lotion myself!

Hey, look, I’m not dead! I was wearing this today, I bought one of those cheap little 4-vial samplers. The wenge and labdanum is perfect, and interestingly, I don’t find it too much even in our horrendous heat right now. I was surprised when I re-tried the Black Cashmere that day with you — I recall having tried it and hated something spicy in the drydown, but this last time it was gorgeous. I may have to get a bottle of that as well…

Hi, March! This combo works perfect in Chicago heat, too. Black Cashmere is indeed one of a kind. You must get a bottle!
